Training Programs
Royal Ridge Equestrian Center
and Emily Richards, trains the horse from the ground up. Starting
with the basics of tying, leading, and round pen work. We teach
our horses to respect and enjoy the training process by communicating
through their language. It is our firm belief that if you
understand your horses language you will be more effective in
communicating with them. It is also important for us to realize
that as communicators, the reward is always more effective than the
punishment in any training program
Emily Richards, head trainer of Royal Ridge Equestrian Center, has worked
extensively with many breeds of horses including: Thoroughbreds,
Warmbloods, various pony breeds, Arabians, Paints, Quarter Horses,
Mustangs, Morgans, National Show Horses, Saddlebreds, and more...
Every horse is different and requires a different training method, and
it is our job as trainers to mold our training programs to each horses
needs to have a successful relationship.
Disciplines & Training
Information
*Hunter-Jumpers: We specialize in the hunter/ jumper horse and
rider, you can see us at the Greater San Diego Hunter Jumper Circuit
throughout the show season
*Hunter & Western Pleasure: Although not our specialty our trainers have
shown and trained hunter and western pleasure horses successfully
throughout the years on both the Arabian and Paint circuit
*Trail Riding/ Endurance
riding: Emily Richards has competed locally and trained dozens of
endurance horses for competitive trail riding over the years.
*Other disciplines: Our
trainers have either competed and or trained in other disciplines
including dressage and saddleseat
*Basic ground work and ground
driving: The fundamentals of any training program for every discipline
of riding
*Emily Richards works with all levels of horses from ground work and breaking, to
the finished show horse.
